On a professional level, I was fortunate to have had the opportunity to work in my wife’s family business, Cromer’s P-Nuts, Inc., located in Columbia, SC for much of my career. While no business is perfect and there were definitely pros and cons to working in a large family business….I owe much of what I know about business due to my experience working for and with the entire Cromer family, and along side many of the wonderful people employed with Cromers during my time in the business.

I will add that the Cromer family operated an extremely ethical and customer oriented business, and instilled in all of us…..as their father, Julian D. Cromer, Sr. did in them….to serve customers to the best of your ability and to always do the right thing. For example, never let profit or loss influence your decision should you ever make a mistake in fulfilling a customer’s need….just correct it….no matter the financial costs associated with doing so. This is a philosophy I absolutely agree with and continue to adhere to today as it’s the only way to conduct business.

It was also my father in law, James Cromer, a true entrepreneur if there ever was one, who encouraged me to go into business for myself when I discussed the possibility with him. He operated a real estate and land development business in addition to being a co-owner of Cromer’s P-Nuts, Inc. with his brother, J.D. Cromer, Jr. because he loved both the opportunities and challenges of running a business independently and encouraged others to do the same if he felt they had the ability along with a good understanding of what it takes to do so.  

On a more personal note:

I’m married to the former Jan Cromer and we have two children, Jenny and Adam. Jenny is married to Christopher Ellisor and Adam to the former Candi Beckham. We are also blessed to have 3 beautiful grandchildren – 2 little girls, Ainsley and Sydney, and a little boy, Hayden.

Also, I'm definitely a big sports fan and enjoy watching baseball, football, basketball and golf whenever I get the chance.  I also enjoy spending time with my wife, our children and their spouses along with keeping our grandchildren.  My wife and I also like watching movies when we get a chance, going out to eat and limited traveling. I also enjoy reading novels and exercising.
